Evio's Value Based Administration
This platform empowers healthcare providers with tools to efficiently manage value-based care arrangements. The platform offers comprehensive solutions for contract management, performance tracking, and data analytics, enabling providers to improve patient outcomes and optimize financial performance.

Problem
Evio's existing administrative processes were plagued by inefficiencies and complexities that hampered productivity and user satisfaction. Internal staff and external partners faced several challenges that necessitated the development of a more efficient and user-friendly platform. The key problems identified were:
Complex Navigation: The current system had a cluttered and unintuitive interface, making it difficult for users to navigate and complete tasks efficiently. Users often had to go through multiple steps to perform simple actions, leading to frustration and decreased productivity.
High Error Rates: Unclear instructions and convoluted processes contributed to frequent user errors, which not only slowed down operations but also required additional time and resources to rectify. The lack of user-friendly design elements increased the likelihood of mistakes during data entry and other routine tasks.
Time-Consuming Processes: Routine administrative tasks were time-consuming due to the system’s inefficiency, leaving staff with less time to focus on strategic initiatives. Manual processes and redundant steps further added to the time burden, creating bottlenecks in workflow.
Scalability Issues: The existing system was not scalable, making it difficult to accommodate Evio's growth and the evolving needs of the organization. As the company expanded, the limitations of the platform became more pronounced, highlighting the need for a more flexible and scalable solution.
Lack of Consistency: The absence of a cohesive design system led to inconsistencies in the user interface, which confused users and affected the overall user experience. Inconsistent design elements and interaction patterns made it challenging for users to develop a reliable mental model of the system.
These issues underscored the necessity for a comprehensive redesign of the administrative platform. The new solution needed to prioritize user experience, streamline processes, and support the scalability required for Evio’s future growth.
Solution
To address the identified problems, we developed a comprehensive solution that focused on user-centric design, streamlined processes, and scalability. Our approach encompassed several key elements:
1. User-Centric Design
Intuitive Navigation: Redesigned the user interface with a clean, intuitive layout that prioritized ease of use. Implemented a simplified menu structure and clear visual hierarchy to help users find what they need quickly and efficiently.
Clear Instructions and Guidance: Introduced tooltips, inline help, and contextual guidance to assist users at every step of the process. Provided clear, concise instructions for complex tasks to reduce errors and increase confidence in task completion.
2. Streamlined Processes
Process Optimization:Analyzed and reengineered workflows to eliminate unnecessary steps and reduce redundancy. Automated repetitive tasks where possible to save time and minimize manual errors.
User Feedback Integration: Conducted usability testing and incorporated user feedback to refine and optimize processes. Iterated on designs based on real user experiences to ensure the platform met their needs effectively.
3. Scalability
Modular Design: Developed a modular architecture that allows for easy updates and additions as Evio grows. Ensured the platform could scale to accommodate increasing data volumes and user numbers without compromising performance.
Future-Proofing: Designed with scalability in mind, enabling the platform to adapt to new requirements and integrate with future technologies seamlessly. Established a robust design system to maintain consistency and support future development efforts.
4. Consistency and Efficiency
Design System: Created a comprehensive design system that includes standardized components, typography, color schemes, and interaction patterns. Ensured consistency across all elements of the platform, improving user familiarity and reducing cognitive load.
High-Fidelity Prototypes: Developed high-fidelity prototypes using Figma to visualize and test design concepts. Facilitated design reviews with stakeholders and users to gather feedback and make informed design decisions.
5. Collaboration and Implementation
Close Collaboration with Development Team: Worked closely with the engineering team to ensure seamless implementation of the design. Provided detailed design specifications and conducted regular design reviews to maintain alignment.
Design Handoff and Support: Delivered final designs and assets to the development team with comprehensive documentation. Conducted walkthroughs and provided ongoing support to address any questions or issues during the development phase.
Impact
The new VBA platform successfully addressed the core issues identified in the initial research phase. By focusing on user-centric design, process optimization, scalability, and consistency, we were able to deliver a solution that significantly improved user experience and operational efficiency for Evio.
Personas
To ensure the Evio VBA platform effectively met the needs of its diverse user base, we developed detailed personas representing the primary user groups. These personas guided our design decisions, helping us create a user-centered experience that addressed the specific requirements and pain points of each group.

Journey Maps
To gain a deeper understanding of the user experience and identify areas for improvement, we created detailed journey maps for each primary persona. These journey maps outlined the steps users took to complete key tasks, highlighting pain points and opportunities for enhancement. By mapping out the user journeys, we were able to design solutions that addressed specific challenges and streamlined the overall experience.

Prototypes
Prototyping was a crucial phase in the development of the Evio VBA platform. By creating interactive prototypes, we were able to visualize our design concepts, gather user feedback, and iterate on the designs to ensure a seamless user experience. The prototyping process involved several stages, each contributing to the refinement and validation of our solutions.

Conclusion
The Evio VBA platform project was a success, meeting the objectives of simplifying administrative tasks, enhancing user experience, increasing efficiency, and ensuring scalability. By employing a user-centered design approach, we were able to create a platform that not only met but exceeded the expectations of stakeholders and users.
